A talking library: Chatty Library is an online e-library of accessible e-books with aloud reading for people with reading difficulties due to visual disabilities or developmental disorders.
Multimedia DAISY and Accessible EPUB3 are known as International standards for e-books with aloud reading, but here, we refer to them all together as daisy books.
This library is a web site that provides you with not only daisy books but also a variety of other services related to daisy books. They include playing back a daisy book, converting PDF into a daisy book, supporting production and publication of daisy books and sharing information on daisy books in Japan. This site also has a function to allow volunteer groups, who do not have their own public web site, to post and to publish daisy books they have produced.

What you can do in this site
DAISY Archive
Currently, 355 titles of daisy books are registered in Chatty Library. You can select a daisy book from this book list page and put it in your My Book Box to play it back on the homepage.
ChattyBox
ChattyBox is a book box for yourself to play back daisy books selected on the Book List page. You can also put conversion results by the DAISY Playback Service, PDF Conversion Service, etc. ChattyBooks in this book box can be played back online or downloaded for offline playback.
Factory
This is a site for people who want to produce their own daisy books for themselves and to post them on the library.
We provide you with online daisy-production services; without special software or skills, you can produce daisy books in a short time by making use of AI-based document-analysis technology and online audio-book-editing functions.
You can submit your own daisy books onto Chatty Library to make them public. You can also submit daisy books produced outside of the factory on this site. The data format of daisy books that can be submitted is Multimedia DAISY2.02, DAISY3, or EPUB3. The name of the daisy producer (organization) will be listed in the library.
DAISY Playback
You can upload your own daisy books onto ChattyBox to play them back directly on the web site. It can be used as an OS-independent DAISY player without installing any special (player) application.
PDF ⇒ DAISY
By making use of an AI-based document-analysis system, we provide you with a service to convert your-uploaded PDF file into a daisy book with aloud reading. The conversion result can be played back directly on ChattyBox or downloaded in daisy-book format.
